Story
About this place
Pioneer Mill at Brandon was among the early Burdekin plantation works of the 1880s. A State Library of Queensland photograph from that decade shows timber mill buildings and stack on the coastal plain. The mill still operates under Wilmar, crushing Burdekin cane into the twenty-first century beside neighbouring Kalamia.
